Arbor-who?
Arbor-Tec Tree Care is a tree care business based in Keswick, Cumbria. Operated by reliable and skilled tree surgeons, we under take all aspects of tree surgery and arboricultural work for commercial and domestic clients. Our aim is to preserve the health of the Lake District trees and work safely within their surroundings.
Arbor-Tec Tree Care was formed in July 2008 by Keswick based tree surgeons Mike Graham and Ashley Gaskell. We take great pride in our work and are qualified to level three standards in arboriculture. With an educational background we are able to offer a wide range of tree care maintenance, knowledge and expertise ranging from specimen tree planting to whole tree removal, all at competitive rates.
Our aim is 100% customer satisfaction which is why our customers, both contract and domestic, return time after time.
Meet the team

Mike Graham
Mike has acquired several years of tree surgery experience on both sides of the globe, having spent a year working as a tree surgeon in Sydney, Australia. The experience enabled him to enjoy unrivaled views of Sydney Opera House from the top of Manly’s finest trees. In November 2009, Mike was named West Cumbria Entrepreneur of the year by the Chamber of Commerce. When he is not cutting down trees, he enjoys making custom made garden furniture.

Ashley Gaskell
Ashley has previous experience working as a tree surgeon for Fountains plc operating throughout Preston and the north of England. In his spare time he puts his leadership skills to good use as vice-captain for the first team at Keswick Rugby Club.
Both have obtained Arboricultural qualifications at the Myerscough College in Preston. To keep up with the ever-changing aspects of Arboriculture we attend regular work shops.
Qualified Tree Surgeons
We have a number of qualifications consisting of:
- National Diploma in Arboriculture
- NPTC CS30, CS31, CS32, CS33, CS34 CS38, CS39, CS40, CS41
- NPTC A 06 Brushwood chipper operations
- IPAF Mobile Work Platforms certificate, vehicle mounted to 26m
- HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 2 license
- City and Guilds Signing, Lighting and Guarding certificate
- ABC First Response training: Emergency First Aid (Appointed Person)
- Member of the Arboricultural Association - Technicians certificate
Health and Safety
We work safely and efficiently, conducting regular checks on all our machinery, equipment and PPE. It is also our policy to carry out regular on-site inspections.
We comply with all health and safety regulations, thus requiring us to complete and carry:
- Site specific / generic risk assessments
- Method statements
- Accident book
- Spill kit (COSHH)
- First aid kit
- Health & Safety policy
Fully Insured
All our work is carried out to British Standards 3998 (Recommendations for tree work 1989) and we are fully insured for both public liability and employer’s liability through NFU Mutual. Our insurance covers us for £5,000,000 public liability and £10,000,000 employer’s liability.
Environmental Policy
We are an environmentally friendly company and ensure to recycle and re-use as much timber, logs and wood chip as possible. We offer all our clients the opportunity to purchase fire logs and garden wood chips, fresh or rotted down. We also provide a service of milling your timber into planks to specified sizes for you to use.
